09. Funders

9.1 Does the charity receive core funding from the government or other sources?
9.2 What are the dollar amounts of these funds and what proportion of the charity’s income do they comprise?

Many charities receive governmental funds at different levels of government.  On the Statement of Operations in Schedule 6 from the T3010 Return available from Canada Revenue Agency charities must disclose any revenues received from the federal, provincial/territorial, municipal/regional government.  Based on the other revenue sources listed in the Statement of Operations one can calculate what percentage these government funds are of their total revenue.

The CRA’s list of Charities – Basic Search and Charity Focus are also great alternative sources.
